AeireHarry Potter and the Fate Of The Next Comic
posted by Aeire

Will be a little late - let's explain, okay?

Chris and I work two VERY DIFFERENT schedules, I get up at 6am for work, he gets up at....whenever he gets up, but it is more often than not after I leave. So I give him scripts, and he plunks them on my system, and I put text on them and upload them because I am the sort that will change lines at the last minute (sometimes because his artwork demands a different, much funnier line, sometimes because I just do that.) and that is my Thing To Do.

So Chris finished both Wednesday's and Friday's comics, but while Friday's comic is in my directory, Wednesday's for some reason is not. It IS complete, I saw him working on them both, but I can't put up Wednesday's file until it appears on my machine to tinker with. Unfortunately, I leave for work in about....twenty minutes, and he is sleeping, as he's been in the midst of con preparations (which is starting TONIGHT OH MY GOSH.)

In a perfect world, I would have remembered to put the comic together last night and noticed the error, however in MY world, I was busy with putting together artwork packages for people, talking to someone who needed a last minute-place to stay, and being regaled with all kinds of interesting and awesome tales by one Jennie Breeden (of The Devil's Panties), who is currently snoozing in our living room.

So in my scatterbrainedness (is that a word?) I didn't get to peek at the comic folder until this morning.

MY LIFE IS FULL OF CRAZY.

The comic will be up later today, possibly late this evening, as we are going directly from work to the San Diego Convention Center in order to pick up our delicious badges and say hello to all of our webcomic friends on Preview Night. Once I get back from that I will be trying to throw the comic together, however I have to pick up the last-minute addition to our household madness at the airport. If the comic doesn't get up before I leave for that, it will be up shortly thereafter.

My apologies for the delay, Friday's comic will be finished and uploaded tonight right after I finish Wednesday's comic, so that there will be no further delays.

Alternatively, the comic is a Horcrux that contains a bit of the Dark Lord and had to be destroyed, we are simply putting it back together again before it goes up, minus the bit. I swear.

And OMGCON. Just because.

Webcomicon 2007

For the first time ever, Webcomics have unified their presence at Comic Con International. "WebComiCon," the heart of the webcomics action in San Diego, will be found in the middle of Aisle 1300, where some of the top names in webcomics -- Abismo/Nerve Bomb, Blank Label Comics, Dayfree Press, Dumbrella, Keenspot, Penny Arcade, PvP, Rooster Teeth and Studio Foglio -- will be assembled.

With a combined readership best counted in millions, this will be a gathering to remember. Located in a prime location in Aisle 1300, WebComiCon is a short walk away from DC and Sideshow Collectibles -- and just around the corner from the Small Press Pavilion. Download our handy map (PDF) and print it out to guide you along your way. This centralized location is tailor-made for fans of webcomics who want to see many of their favorite creators in one area.

Expect to see all your favorite artists joining up for group sketches, sketch mashups, practical jokes, and a sense of excitement that only comes once a year at the biggest webcomics meetup in the world. Other webcomics creators can be found in Artist Alley and Small Press, making WebComicCon the center of the ultimate webcomics gathering in the world. Watch Fleen.com for an updated map of all of the webcomics creators in attendance.

I'll be there - apparently hanging out at the Keenspot booth every now and again, you can probably catch me there - just look for the person with the outrageous red hair. Not the blue. The blue haired one is Gav. Although I bet if you ask him nicely he will draw you pretty pictures as well as everyone else in the booth! Stop by, say hi, or you know, just look for me around the convention - I'll be the one desperately trying to camp the line for the Neil Gaiman signing (if there is one) so I can get my treasured and adored printer's proof of Good Omens signed already.

And now for something completely different.
